The GCSE Maths Equivalency Exams are based upon the Edexcel GCSE Specification and national curriculum so that it is just as recognised as a standard GCSE. If you haven’t been in education for a while, the prospect of taking such an important exam must be daunting. So, there is an option for you to take either Foundation level or Higher level exam. A lot of the time, we do recommend the foundation as it has a higher pass rate; but the grades are capped at a Level 5. An idea for the grade boundaries are as follows:

Foundation Tier Maths Equivalency Exam Grade Boundaries

  • Grade 4 (low C) (55% to 74%) Grade 5 (75% to 100%)

Higher Tier Maths Equivalency Grade Boundaries are as follows:

  • Grade 4 (25 to 34%)   9 mark band 25 to 34 marks inclusive
  • Grade 5 (35 to 43%)   9 mark band 35 to 43 marks inclusive
